Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Warming Center Coordinator at Glade Run Lutheran Services. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests, volunteers, and facility staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise facility activities to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
  • Enforce community expectations uniformly and consistently, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Conduct intake and orientation of guests, providing essential information and support.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including distributing and setting up sleeping supplies, and maintaining accurate guest records and nightly logs.
  • Respond to crisis situations, providing basic crisis intervention and risk assessment, and contacting emergency personnel as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the facility in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition, adhering to our strict code of confidentiality.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • One to two years' experience working with people who are homeless or low-income, or who have issues with chemical dependency, mental health, domestic violence, and/or sexual assault.
  • Knowledge of services available to low-income and homeless persons in the area, or the demonstrated ability to obtain such knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, familiarity with data collection programs, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Must be able to meet the hours of the position, which include working at least 3-4 nights per week.
  • Must have acceptable PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Clearance.
Working Conditions

The physical and mental demands of this role include:

  • Hearing and vision adequate for interaction with guests, staff, volunteers, and the general public.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, reach, stoop, pull, sit, and squat.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
