UPMC is seeking a full-time Patient Services Representative to join their team in a medical office setting. As a Patient Services Representative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Administrative Support: Assist with preparing charts, checking patients in and out, and performing various administrative duties.
- Patient Communication: Guide patients through the PRO technology, provide clear and understandable instructions, and assist with resolving patient questions or needs.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule or connect patients to resources for ancillary services, confirm/verify insurance benefits, and promote the MyUPMC patient portal.
- Financial Transactions: Collect copayments and any other applicable patient payments at the point of service.
- Customer Service: Provide a warm greeting for all patients, register patients in Biometrics, and confirm/update patient registration information.
- Phone and Email Management: Appropriately distribute/triage phone calls to other areas and/or clinical providers.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Experience: Two years of experience in a medical/billing/fiscal or customer service function preferred.
- Skills: Proficient typing skills, experience with personal computer-based applications, and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
