Position Summary:

The Patient Care Technician will deliver essential nursing services, including direct patient care, health assessments, and coordination of healthcare services for residents. This role requires regular interaction with patients, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and orientation for newly hired staff, ensuring effective task completion.
  • Facilitate therapeutic discussions and activities, promoting patient engagement and well-being.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to share insights regarding patients' physical and behavioral health.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques while assisting patients with personal hygiene and medical devices.
  • Monitor vital signs and document any significant changes, alerting healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Conduct safety rounds to ensure the well-being of patients and report any unusual incidents.
  • Assist patients in attending social and medical appointments, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a valid Delaware certification as a Nursing Assistant or be eligible for certification.
