Job Title: Director of Market Access

Salary Range: $135,000 to $170,000

Role Summary:

Augmentjobs is on the lookout for a proactive and strategic Director of Market Access to enhance our team. The successful candidate will be tasked with formulating and implementing market access strategies that ensure our products are readily available to the market. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, including payer dynamics, reimbursement processes, regulatory frameworks, and competitive analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Development:
    • Design and execute detailed market access strategies to facilitate product introductions and ongoing management.
    • Oversee the creation of compelling value propositions and evidence generation frameworks to bolster market access initiatives.
  2. Payer Relations:
    • Build and sustain relationships with pivotal payers, health insurance providers, and reimbursement authorities.
    • Negotiate and oversee agreements with payers to secure advantageous coverage and reimbursement terms for our offerings.
  3. Collaborative Engagement:
    • Work closely with internal departments such as Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal to synchronize market access strategies with broader business goals.
    • Provide insights on market access to guide clinical development and commercial strategies.
  4. Policy Monitoring:
    • Keep abreast of and influence changes in healthcare policies that affect market access and reimbursement.
    • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and advocacy groups to promote favorable market access conditions.
  5. Data Analysis:
    • Examine market access data, including payer coverage and reimbursement metrics, alongside competitive positioning.
    • Compile and present analytical reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
  6. Leadership:
    • Guide and mentor a team of market access specialists, fostering their professional growth and development.
    • Encourage a collaborative and high-achieving team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Economics, Public Health, or a related discipline. An advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PhD) is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in market access, payer relations, health economics, or similar roles within the healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors.
    • Demonstrated success in developing and executing market access strategies.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • In-depth knowledge of healthcare systems, payer landscapes, and reimbursement mechanisms.
    • Familiarity with health economics, outcomes research, and principles of value-based healthcare.
    • Expertise in data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively with external stakeholders.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Proven leadership and team management skills.
