About the Role:

The Area Sales Representative is a key contributor to the success of Dorman Products, responsible for driving sales, profitability, and awareness of our products through distribution. This role requires a self-starter who can thrive in a remote office environment and is proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Sales and Profitability: Achieve sales and profitability objectives by working with customers to optimize store inventories, communicate promotions, resolve complaints, and communicate new product opportunities.
  • Brand and Product Awareness: Drive brand and product awareness across all levels of distribution, including trade show representation, customer sales/counter person training, jobber/technician visits, and changeover assistance.
  • Customer Support: Provide exceptional customer support by resolving complaints, communicating new product opportunities, and optimizing store inventories.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Take action to expand marketing material distribution and new product announcement enrollment.
  • Travel and Physical Requirements: Ability to travel 70% or more of the time, including weekend travel as needed, and capability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Self-starter who thrives in a remote office environment
  • Associate degree (or higher) in business, automotive technology, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of applicable experience preferred
