Position Overview:

JOB SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician, under the supervision of the Nursing Unit Director and with guidance from the Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, is responsible for delivering exceptional individualized basic nursing care. This role is integral to supporting the mission and vision of AHMC Healthcare. The Patient Care Technician applies knowledge of patient demographics, including age, developmental stage, and cultural diversity, to ensure effective patient care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high-quality basic nursing care to patients.
  • Support the nursing team in maintaining a safe and effective care environment.
  • Utilize patient knowledge to tailor care to individual needs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:

  1. Completion of a Nursing Assistant Course Certificate and current certification as a Nurse Aide (C.N.A.) is required.
  2. A high school diploma or equivalent experience is preferred.
  3. Preferred experience includes at least six months in an acute hospital setting.
  4. Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
