Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Technician III to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a key member of our therapeutic services team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute individual treatment plans for clients in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of all therapeutic activities, ensuring a stable and smooth operation of the program.
  • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions, utilizing a wide range of techniques to address mental illness, emotional problems, social and interpersonal issues, and functional deficits.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress, including assessments, treatment plans, and discharge plans.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to provide input into treatment plans for individual clients, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
  • Orient family members to the nature of therapeutic services and the specific program, promoting positive family relations and effective parental strategies.
  • Manage behavioral crises, including 1:1 observation, redirection, physical restraint, and team crisis interventions, while maintaining a commitment to client safety and well-being.
  • Write behavioral management plans for acute patients in cooperation with treatment team recommendations, ensuring a comprehensive and effective approach to crisis management.
  • Complete assessments as needed, utilizing a range of tools and techniques to inform treatment decisions.
  • Assist with medication administration and recording as directed, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Communicate relevant client progress and participate in weekly treatment team planning, ensuring a coordinated and comprehensive approach to care.
  • Maintain ongoing professional relationships with personnel from schools, public agencies, and mental health and drug and alcohol treatment facilities, promoting collaboration and coordination of care.
  • Address and resolve client funding matters, ensuring timely and effective resolution of financial issues.
  • Conduct inter-agency meetings as necessary, promoting collaboration and coordination of care.
  • Collaborate in appropriate treatment and discharge plans with clients, guardians, and community agencies, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
  • Provide transportation in a WellSpan Health vehicle to and from the program for clients who meet requirements and are in need of transportation, promoting accessibility and convenience.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline, including social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, or activity therapies.
  • 1 year of behavioral health experience or 1 year of social science experience, with a strong understanding of therapy principles and group counseling skills/techniques.
  • Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
  • Driver's License upon hire.
  • Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to assess and interpret client data.
  • Organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Mental and visual ability to observe client behavior and document findings.
  • Teaching ability, with the capacity to educate clients and family members about therapeutic services and treatment plans.
  • Customer service awareness and capability, with a commitment to providing exceptional care and service to clients and families.
