Overview:
As a Child and Adolescent Behavioral Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective operation of our inpatient program. Your primary focus will be to provide therapeutic interventions aligned with established best practices and client treatment plans. You will engage in various client care, case management, and administrative tasks to support successful client discharges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for clients.
  • Oversee daily therapeutic activities to ensure a structured environment.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions using diverse therapeutic techniques.
  • Maintain comprehensive awareness of client histories and current statuses, contributing to treatment planning.
  • Educate family members about therapeutic services and client progress.
  • Foster positive family dynamics and effective parenting strategies.
  • Demonstrate clinically appropriate relational skills, including empathy and active listening.
  • Manage behavioral crises through observation, redirection, and team interventions.
  • Develop behavioral management plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Conduct assessments as necessary to inform treatment decisions.
  • Assist with medication administration and documentation as directed.
  • Communicate client progress effectively during treatment team meetings.
  • Maintain professional relationships with educational institutions and community agencies.
  • Address client funding issues and conduct inter-agency meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate on treatment and discharge plans with clients, guardians, and community resources.
  • Provide transportation for eligible clients using WellSpan Philhaven vehicles.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a recognized clinical discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in behavioral health or social sciences.
  • Valid Basic Life Support certification and driver's license required.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Capacity to observe client behavior and document findings accurately.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic principles and group counseling techniques.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to occupational hazards and bloodborne pathogens.
