Job Summary:

EMCOR Services of NY/NJ is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems. You will troubleshoot and service equipment, conduct tests and analysis to ensure proper functioning, and provide recommendations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install replacement equipment and parts according to manufacturer specifications to honor warranties
  • Complete HVACR preventive maintenance in accordance with established standards
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair HVACR malfunctions in accordance with EPA standards
  • Follow maintenance schedules to complete accurate and timely equipment maintenance and operating logs
  • Document tasks, including timesheets, expense reports, service reports, and purchase card logs
  • Conduct general tasks, such as safety training, group meetings, and tool maintenance

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience working on commercial or industrial HVAC equipment/systems
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals
  • Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems, basic mathematical abilities, and ability to read blueprints and technical schematics
  • EPA universal refrigeration license, OSHA 30, FDNY Fire Watch and Burning Permits, and Clean Driver's License

Work Environment:

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. May require safety equipment, including steel toe shoes, hearing, eye, and hand protection.

The salary for this position is determined by the terms of the 638b Collective Bargaining Agreements and is $44.23 per hour.
