Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our firm's operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen and a proven track record in enhancing operational efficiencies.

The COO will have significant autonomy to drive profitability while managing key functions across the firm, including financial management, human resources, and strategic initiatives.

This is a fully remote position requiring work on PST hours, and you can be located anywhere in the USA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee planning, forecasting, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, billing, and collections.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, tax planning, trust accounting, payroll, insurance programs, pension, and retirement plans.
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, training, management, and evaluation of non-lawyer administrative and support staff.
  • Administer salaries, benefits, workers' compensation, personnel data systems, job design, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure remote employees are equipped with the necessary tools and supplies.
  • Oversee records management, disaster recovery, mail/messenger services, and other facilities management functions.
  • Lead strategic and tactical planning, risk management, quality control, and organizational development.
  • Oversee firm-wide planning processes and general management functions.
  • Conduct client profitability analysis and contribute to business development strategies.
  • Manage marketing, public relations, collateral materials, and website development.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience with a 3 years of experience in law firm administration or an equivalent field.
  • Strong human resources and financial management expertise.
  • Proven ability to manage firm-wide operations and meet strategic objectives.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative team player.
