Position Summary: The Patient Account Representative, under the guidance of the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, plays a crucial role in the efficient collection and resolution of accounts receivable, adhering to the established policies and procedures of the healthcare facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the prompt collection and resolution of assigned accounts to achieve financial targets.
  • Assist patients in addressing and resolving insurance-related inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Manage a workload of approximately 50 accounts daily.
  • Conduct weekly follow-ups on accounts with outstanding balances exceeding $10,000.
  • Respond swiftly to payer denials to ensure resolution.
  • Employ account reminders to follow up on aging accounts at least every 35 days.
  • Promptly escalate unresolved accounts to management for further action.
  • Verify the accuracy of payments and appeal any underpaid claims as necessary.
  • Comply with all fire, disaster, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in accounts receivable and healthcare is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • No specific licenses or certifications required.
