As a Police Officer at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol and Enforcement: Proactively patrol assigned areas to detect and apprehend criminal activity, maintaining a highly visible presence to deter crime and build positive community relations.
- Investigating and Reporting: Investigate complaints and criminal activity, interviewing witnesses and victims, collecting evidence, and completing accurate and timely reports.
- Traffic Control and Enforcement: Respond to and investigate collisions, perform traffic control and direction duties, and enforce traffic laws as necessary.
- Communication: Ensure clear and professional communication with the public, utilizing proper radio etiquette and communicating effectively with dispatch and fellow officers.
- Transports and Safety: Operate department vehicles safely, maintain duty gear and equipment, and practice sound officer safety procedures.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or post-high school diploma/highest degree earned.
- Experience: 2 years of prior work experience.
- Certifications: South Carolina Driver's License, South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy Class I Law Enforcement Officer Certification, or formerly held a Law Enforcement Officer Certification from another state (with a break in service no more than three years).
- Certification: Certification through International Association of Hospital Security and Safety.
- Experience: Prior experience in the military/armed forces, or college-level coursework in criminal justice.
This is a part-time, variable shift position at Greenville Memorial Medical Campus, with opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
