Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

The Minds in Motion Initiative is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to assisting individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). We are currently seeking a passionate Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who aims to empower clients through engaging recreational activities.
This position is ideal for someone who is vibrant, motivated, and eager to make a positive impact on the lives of those recovering from brain injuries. The beautiful Pacific Northwest offers an excellent backdrop for this rewarding work.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Certification in Recreational Therapy
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Experience with individuals diagnosed with Acquired Brain Injury is preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Creativity and innovation in program development
- Collaborate with clients and the Director to design and implement engaging programs.
- Plan, execute, and assess daily activities tailored to participant needs.
- Create quarterly activity calendars that align with resident interests and requirements.
- Participate in team meetings to strategize program development.
- Maintain accurate departmental records, including assessments and evaluations.
- Foster effective communication and relationships with clients, families, and staff.
- Engage in ongoing education to stay updated on best practices in care.
- Assist in evaluating individual activity levels and capabilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Commit to a regular 60-hour bi-weekly schedule that accommodates the needs of those we serve, with potential for additional hours.
- Flexibility for evening and weekend work may be required.
