Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and reformat CT examinations to create diagnostic images and facilitate interventional and therapeutic procedures.
  • Create a tranquil environment for patients to adhere to examination instructions.
  • Identify anatomical orientation on required images and ensure proper file identification.
  • Demonstrate competency in performing CT procedures and operating related equipment.
  • Obtain patient history and enter information into the computer system.
  • Scan according to guidelines and observe patient vital signs during examinations.
  • Provide instruction and mentoring to new hires.
  • Maintain CPR certification and perform procedures in compliance with Standards of Care, facility, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the completion of the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) every three years.
  • Demonstrate a positive patient experience by sharing information, ensuring follow-up steps, and providing excellent quality.
  • Submit images of diagnostic quality without recommendation of additional image acquisition and perform quality assurance on images and equipment.
  • Make authoritative decisions and contribute to efficient out-patient operations, maximizing productivity.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) CT certified.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization.
  • Ability to use the department's computerized system and its associated devices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine.
  • 2+ years of experience in computed tomography.
Physical Demands:
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assist patients weighing 300 pounds or more and place them in appropriate positions for equipment operation.
  • Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review images.
