Job Title: Senior Environmental Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Engineer to join our team in Northern California. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing projects related to drinking water, water reuse, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects and tasks for conveyance infrastructure, including pump stations, new pipelines, and rehabilitation design.
  • Participate in business development as part of a client service team or as a client service manager.
  • Conduct technical evaluations to support planning, condition assessment, and design-related activities.
  • Provide support on various conveyance infrastructure and master planning projects.
  • Assist and lead the preparation of calculations, technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Coordinate civil project work with geotechnical, architectural, process, mechanical, and electrical engineers and consultants.
  • Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications as part of engineering services during construction.
  • Assist with submittal reviews, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders for construction projects.
  • Conduct field work as necessary for various projects.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams, including other disciplines (drafters, designers, and other engineers).
  • Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time and on budget.
  • Adhere to Brown and Caldwell's QA/QC process.
Requirements:
  • Self-starter, results-oriented, and ability to work under deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field required.
  • Desire to work on projects related to drinking water, water reuse, stormwater, and wastewater conveyance infrastructure.
  • California PE license.
  • Field/construction experience and/or NASSCO certification a plus.
  • Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and on large coordinated teams.
  • Ability and willingness to perform field work at various sites.
  • Knowledge of standard software, including MS Office, Outlook, MathCAD, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems.
