Ophthalmic Clinic Scribe

Retina Consultants of Texas (RCTX) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Clinic Scribe to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely documentation of patient examinations and treatments.
Responsibilities:- Summarize and document physician verbalizations during examinations, including charting, additions to the chief complaint, and recommendations for treatment.
- Accurately code patient charts with ICD10 and CPT codes.
- Observe and assist patients and physicians during exams, providing support as needed.
- Maintain patient flow and communication, ensuring proper follow-up appointments and insurance authorization.
- Support clinic staff with Ophthalmic Technician duties and facilitate communication between physicians and staff.
- High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 6 months experience in a medical office, preferably ophthalmology.
- Scribe certification (certified ophthalmic assistant) preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
- Computer literacy and ability to spell accurately while charting.
