The Amazon Tax department operates in a dynamic and collaborative environment. We are currently seeking a Tax Integration Manager who possesses exceptional project management abilities and a strong background in tax process enhancement and transformation. This role involves gathering requirements, overseeing project activities, and ensuring the successful progression of initiatives aimed at refining tax operations.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts across tax, accounting, and technology teams, as well as third-party providers and various stakeholders. This position is crucial in delivering solutions that standardize, optimize, and transform tax processes to accommodate the growing demands of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current tax processes and desired outcomes; spearhead improvements to enhance operational efficiency and establish performance metrics.
  • Develop, organize, and oversee multiple project plans utilizing existing tools; regularly document and communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Lead discussions with project owners, sponsors, and subject matter experts to align on objectives.
  • Facilitate efficiencies between Finance and tax functions within the Reporting & Compliance team and across the tax organization.
  • Collaborate with tax and finance teams to leverage technology for efficient results.
  • Document clear and actionable requirements from impacted functions and effectively communicate them to project stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks to project scope or timelines and escalate issues to program leadership promptly.
  • Formulate plans to address technical debt, manual processes, and non-value-added activities.
  • Oversee the documentation of processes, focusing on the technical solution, controls, and overall user impact.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Experience in a large public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with transaction tax calculation software (e.g., Vertex).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as VBA, Python, SQL, or other database languages.
  • Demonstrated program/project management experience.

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $80,900/year in our lowest geographic market to $172,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is influenced by several factors, including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package, which may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
