The role of the Tax, Trust, and Estate specialist is integral to a specialized team that delivers significant value and advantages to Schwab clients. This service enhances the depth and value provided to clients of branch partners and Schwab Wealth Advisory Investment Advisors. The primary objective is to navigate clients' complex requirements in Tax, Trust, and Estates, which can lead to substantial savings for the client. This position necessitates delivering detailed, sophisticated advice to entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals with intricate financial situations, considerable business interests, and large family estates and investment portfolios that require meticulous attention.
The Wealth Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert on all aspects of a client's Tax, Trust, and Estate requirements.
What you have
As a High Net Worth Trust & Estate/Tax Specialist, you will:
- Foster and manage robust relationships with Financial Consultants and Portfolio Consultants.
- Act as an in-house expert on complex trust, estate, and income tax inquiries and challenges.
- Identify unexpressed needs from clients to propose additional Schwab services where applicable.
- Deliver presentations to both large and small groups to share your expertise and offerings with key partners.
- Educate internal partners about your skills and capabilities to support their clients and drive referrals.
- Leverage your prior experience in Tax, Trust, and Estate to contribute to a growing sector of Investment Advisor Services.

- Bachelor's degree required.
- Previous experience as a Tax, Trust, and Estate attorney is strongly preferred.
- At least one of the following credentials is required: JD, LLM, CPA, CTFA, AEP.
- Extensive experience advising high-net-worth clients.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong internal relationships through collaboration with Branch Financial Consultants and Portfolio Consultants within Schwab Wealth Advisory.
- Demonstrated experience in uncovering unexpressed needs through diagnostic information gathering.
- Excellent presentation skills and a track record of success in a collaborative environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication, listening, interpersonal, client service, networking, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal effectiveness when engaging with high-net-worth clients.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% to 25%.
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
