Job Title: General Manager

Alstom is seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager to lead our commuter rail operations in Southern California. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating our performance of obligations under the agreement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and coordinate our performance of obligations under the agreement
  • Have all necessary authority and autonomy over operations to make decisions, including those with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Supervise Key Management Personnel, including Assistant General Managers
  • Manage and direct bundled contract commuter operations
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and on-time performance
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
  • Develop and establish programs, practices, standards, and procedures for passenger safety and rule adherence
Requirements:
  • 20 years of broad and deep experience in railroad operations, maintenance, engineering, contract, and project management
  • At least five years in a Senior Management/Leadership capacity for a FRA Regulated, Class 1 or Commuter Railroad
  • Valid California Driver's License with a good driving record
  • Pass e-rail safe background check
  • Pass pre-employment physical examination, including a drug test
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to make presentations to Senior Leadership, Governing Boards, and public stakeholder groups
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Ability to organize work effectively with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Programs
  • Knowledgeable with the application of new technology to improve efficiency, safety, and reduce costs
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction, or related field, or equivalent experience

Salary Range:

$154,000.00 to $211,750.00 depending on experience/qualifications

This position is eligible for Railroad Retirement.
