A Brief Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Authenticate client insurance details; secure electronic signatures from clients upon their arrival, ensuring no modifications in insurance, address, or contact information since their previous visit; document any changes in the Electronic Client Records (ECR).
  • Handle incoming calls and welcome walk-in clients; clarify the procedure for becoming a client; schedule appointments for clients following established protocols.
  • Collaborate with the billing department to address any financial discrepancies as they occur.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by your supervisor.

Assist the Front Desk Supervisor with:

  • Generating daily patient reports to ascertain outstanding balances and coordinating prompt collection of those amounts.
  • Creating suitable payment plans for patients.
  • Dispatching overdue letters, follow-up termination notices, and monthly billing statements.
  • Confirming that new clients possess valid insurance or a signed payment agreement along with necessary income verification documents before scheduling their initial evaluation.
  • Producing weekly Scheduled Appointment Reports for outpatient services to verify active insurance and ensure timely setup for patients lacking coverage to meet with an Insurance Navigator. In the meantime, appointments will be arranged to collect income verification documents, determine applicable private pay rates based on the prevailing sliding scale, and record that information in the ECR system.

Qualifications:

  • A two-year degree in office technology, business, or a related field, along with five years of administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities; detail-oriented; capable of managing multiple tasks and performing under pressure.
  • Certification as a Medical Biller is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
