Dental Hygiene Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygiene Specialist to join our team at Gotu. As a registered dental hygienist, you will have the opportunity to work on your own terms, choosing when, where, and how much you want to work.

Job Responsibilities- Provide dental prophylaxis and oral cancer screening to patients
- Chart conditions of decay and disease, and perform procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
- Prepare patients for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping them
- Provide information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests
- Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments
- Select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits by evaluating patients' oral health
- Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins
- Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening, feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession, and exposing and developing radiographic studies
- Arrest dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents
- Active dental hygiene license in CT
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health care practice
We offer a range of benefits, including malpractice and OAI/workers compensation insurance, full control over your schedule, and guaranteed pay. If an office cancels within a certain period, you may still get paid at least 25% of the daily pay. You also have the option to counter offer any available shift for more money or hours that work for you.
