ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in providing technical support for software, hardware, and applications is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Technologies and familiarity with Cisco Meraki Hardware is essential. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

CompTIA A+ Certification is advantageous. CompTIA Network+ Certification is also preferred.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Insight Global is seeking an IT Support Desk Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing advanced technical support and acting as a key resource for Service Desk Analysts. The Specialist will ensure that initial assessments are accurately completed before transferring incidents or issues. Upon receiving responsibility for an incident, the Specialist will utilize advanced skills and resolution techniques, taking into account the severity and priority of the issue.

The IT Support Desk Specialist will collaborate with IT Operations to conduct root cause analysis for any significant incidents. The role includes delivering exceptional customer service and supporting all IT and Operational Technology functions. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues for users of personal computer software, hardware, and enterprise networks.
  • Communicating effective solutions to end-users.
  • Providing one-on-one support for Service Desk incidents, requests, and changes.
  • Diagnosing and resolving network printer issues, application errors, PC hardware malfunctions, and connectivity problems.
  • Coordinating repairs for computer, server, or network equipment, including vendor collaboration.
  • Tracking and maintaining inventory, along with shipping and receiving tasks.
  • Performing minor hardware repairs for PCs and peripherals not covered by vendor agreements.
  • Assisting in the installation of local area network cabling systems and equipment.
  • Supporting Analysts and IT Operations Technicians by defining processes and maintaining a knowledge base for both customers and internal staff.
