Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Process Specialist will collaborate with production teams and chemists to ensure the successful formulation of skincare, sunscreen, and various other products. This role encompasses the design, implementation, and oversight of processes and equipment that convert raw materials into finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a resource for the pilot-scale production of innovative skincare, sunscreen, body care, and hair color products.
  • Offer technical assistance for manufacturing operations. Conduct investigations, document findings, and assist in resolving deviations.
  • Lead or assist in technology transfers by executing laboratory and/or pilot plant experiments and providing technical risk evaluations for new manufacturing methodologies. Communicate and interpret results to the technology transfer team.
  • Coordinate with Chemists and Compounders to ensure seamless communication regarding formulas and processes.
  • Design and implement manufacturing workflows and equipment, transitioning from pilot to full-scale operations for intricate products.
  • Stay informed on regulatory and quality standards pertinent to manufacturing.
  • Review and draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Develop and validate technical specifications for equipment procurement and process validation.
  • Engage regularly with senior technical colleagues and peers.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Manage tasks across multiple functional areas (process, project, etc.).
  • Perform additional duties as required to support ongoing operations and client-focused initiatives.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding or background in the chemical manufacturing sector.
  • Strong technical and/or regulatory knowledge.
  • Meticulous record-keeping and effective communication of findings.
  • Project management skills suitable for leading technology transfer initiatives.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • High initiative, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and engage with all organizational levels, including senior management.
  • Capacity to prioritize various responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Professional and effective communication skills both internally and externally.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a high degree of organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Chemical Manufacturing.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience or knowledge of the personal care industry and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly.
  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including respirators, gloves, and eye protection.
  • Capability to work in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to occupational hazards.
