Job Summary

Martin Transportation Systems is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Transportation Operations Coordinator to join our team in Byron Center, Michigan. This is a full-time, in-office position responsible for managing and monitoring our company's driver compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit and Compliance: Conduct thorough audits of drivers' electronic logs to ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and company policies.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic documentation of audit findings and other relevant records.
  • Driver Support and Assistance: Provide assistance to drivers and dispatchers with hours-of-service compliance, eLog issues, and other areas of monitoring.
  • Audit and Research: Perform audits, including Speed Gauge, DVIR compliance, roadside inspections, and fuel mileage, as well as conduct research as directed.
  • Breakdown Coordination: Assist drivers with breakdown needs, accidents, and emergencies by routing them to terminals or coordinating roadside repairs.
  • Vendor Management: Arrange breakdown services by locating authorized vendors within proximity to ensure minimum wait time, competitive pricing, and quality repairs.
  • Communication and Reporting: Communicate any service disruptions and route changes due to down equipment, update all parties regarding progress toward completion of repairs, and coordinate payment methods to vendors.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Geography and Transportation Routing: Demonstrated knowledge of geography and ability to understand transportation routing.
  • Trucking Industry Experience: Experience in the trucking industry, including knowledge of electronic logs, hours of service rules, and FMCSA regulations.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer Service and Phone Etiquette: Skilled in phone etiquette and customer service.
