The technician is responsible for restoring damaged vehicle body components and structures in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay informed on the latest repair techniques and methodologies for the vehicles serviced by the dealership
- Execute all body and fender repairs as per estimates and adjust as necessary
- Complete tasks outlined in repair orders with precision and efficiency
- Conduct welding, soldering, body alignment, and oxidizing processes
- Identify the source of malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs
- Coordinate with the parts department to procure required components
- Inspect vehicles to ascertain if additional safety or service work is warranted
- Notify the Body Shop Manager regarding any additional work requirements
- Stay updated with the latest technical bulletins, service manuals, and other relevant publications
- Participate in factory-sponsored training sessions and remain informed about factory technical updates
- Operate all Body Shop equipment safely and productively
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Exercise discretion in the use of company materials and supplies
- Ensure that customer vehicles are kept in pristine condition
- Document all completed work promptly
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal
- Obtain management approval and complete a repair order before performing any work on personal vehicles
