ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Windows Infrastructure Engineer is an integral member of a diverse team within the Enterprise Technology Operations division.

Your responsibilities will encompass the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of our on-premises and cloud-based computing infrastructure and application ecosystem.

Your primary focus will be to ensure optimal levels of availability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced technical support, maintenance, and testing to ensure system integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows environments and associated infrastructure.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of various computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Stay informed about current technological trends and developments in the field.
  • Facilitate clear communication and instructions to outsourced resources.
  • Proactively maintain high levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple ongoing issues.
  • Serve as a team lead for junior engineers.
  • Create and maintain documentation for application or infrastructure processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending changes and efficiencies to standards and automation.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating system internals and system management tools.
  • Experience as an Active Directory domain administrator.
  • Familiarity with on-premises or cloud enterprise infrastructure design and support.
  • Proficient in using and managing System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Comfortable working in virtualized environments such as VMware.
  • Strong networking knowledge.
  • Ability to escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Quickly adaptable to a variety of computer hardware and software.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with change control policies and thorough documentation practices.
  • Solid understanding of security and performance best practices.

Preferred Certifications:
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Practitioner
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)

Additional Considerations:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Variable work hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Participation in a team on-call rotation.
