About the Role
The Legacy Giving Coordinator plays a vital role within WWP's fundraising team. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of planned giving donors and potential contributors. The Coordinator will engage with individuals interested in making a planned gift through personal interactions, emphasizing in-person meetings and engagement events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance the growth and retention of a diverse portfolio of planned giving and prospective donors.
  • Effectively communicate WWP's mission, history, and programs to potential funding sources, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain a balanced portfolio for effective management and track communications within the CRM system to prioritize individual interests through relationship-based fundraising strategies.
  • Represent WWP at community events, engaging with audiences, organizations, and donors, while traveling to meet with existing and prospective donors.
  • Collaborate with WWP colleagues across various departments, including Communications, Marketing, and Resource Development, to attract new donors.
  • Provide regular revenue projections and forecasts for the portfolio.
  • Develop tailored cultivation strategies for potential donors.
  • Guide potential donors towards solicitation and closure in a timely manner.
  • Create personalized donor communications, including proposals and stewardship reports.
  • Utilize wealth screening and research to identify prospective planned giving and major donors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and interpret data for informed decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Experience working with older donors, financial planners, and legal professionals.
  • Ability to convey technical information clearly to team members and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and manage workloads.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
  • Understanding of Wounded Warrior Project's mission and the impact of its programs on veterans and their families.
  • High energy and a proactive approach to work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and a positive work environment.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of five years in fundraising or sales.
  • At least three years of proven success in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting planned giving and/or major donors.
  • Two years of experience with customer relationship management software.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Work Environment
  • Office environment with temperature control.
  • Travel may be required for donor meetings and events.
  • Ability to lift/carry items up to 10 pounds.
