Work Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days in office/2 days from home

General Summary: The Franchise Support Paralegal plays a crucial role in ensuring legal adherence and managing the lifecycle of franchise contracts to facilitate the expansion of franchise operations both domestically and internationally, while also executing general paralegal responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and modify franchise agreements, amendments, and associated documentation.
  • Evaluate and summarize essential contract terms, compiling relevant information to bolster franchise development and compliance.
  • Oversee the complete execution of documents by franchisees, ensuring that original signed copies are returned and properly archived.
  • Coordinate the annual update and processing of disclosure documents, including the creation of project plans, task lists, and timelines.
  • Prepare, update, and manage disclosure documents for use across various jurisdictions.
  • Distribute and monitor the delivery of Franchise Disclosure Documents.
  • Ensure adherence to franchise agreements regarding insurance, leases, and tri-party agreements; identify and address instances of franchisee non-compliance.
  • Maintain organized records for franchise agreement materials and provide data or documentation as requested by auditors.
  • Handle correspondence on behalf of the legal department to support franchise development, operations, or litigation issues.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal clients to guarantee that departments have access to current information regarding policies and franchise agreements.
  • Build and maintain effective communication with each franchisee's legal representatives to ensure clarity on policy details.
  • Assist in enhancing processes and documentation to ensure consistent application of internal franchise documentation policies.
  • Engage in special projects, including research, review, and analysis of franchise-related documents.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of contracts and agreements.
  • Support the contract lifecycle, including template development, management, and execution; oversee all phases of contract management processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate or completion of a paralegal degree program is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a franchise paralegal is required, with preference given to candidates with in-house corporate legal department experience, particularly in consumer products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus on task completion.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality at all levels.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize and manage a demanding workload under tight deadlines.
