$42,000 - $50,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

The Medication Administration Specialist is responsible for administering medications to residents in a safe and timely manner. This involves reviewing medication orders, preparing medications, and documenting all aspects of medication administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications to residents in accordance with their treatment plans and physician orders.
  • Review and verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare medications according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Document all aspects of medication administration, including resident responses and any adverse reactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication administration.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably with geriatric patients.
  • Basic knowledge of medication administration and pharmacy practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs).
