Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to oversee the daily operations of our sushi restaurant. This role is crucial for ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards of service and quality.

ROLE OBJECTIVE
The primary responsibility is to manage and coordinate the daily activities of the restaurant, focusing on guest satisfaction, staff supervision, and operational efficiency. Key tasks include training staff, ensuring food quality, maintaining cleanliness, and achieving sales targets.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Thoroughly understand and implement all operational policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Guarantee that guests receive prompt, friendly, and professional service at all times.
  • Ensure that food and beverages are prepared and served according to established recipes and standards.
  • Meet company goals related to service quality, facility appearance, and sanitation through effective staff training and management.
  • Manage cash handling procedures and ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Assist in the hiring and termination processes as needed.
  • Step in to support guest service and operational needs when required.
  • Focus on the development of team members in both managerial and professional skills.
  • Organize and complete necessary paperwork, including reports and schedules, in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all equipment in excellent working condition through regular inspections and adherence to maintenance protocols.
  • Ensure proper receiving of products and compliance with inventory procedures.

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure timely completion of employee performance evaluations.
  • Monitor labor needs based on business activity and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Administer corrective actions for policy violations fairly and consistently.
  • Comply with all relevant health, safety, and labor regulations.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to upper management as necessary.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS

  • Timeliness and attendance are critical.
  • Must not work under the influence.
  • Availability on weekends and holidays is essential.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Proficient in reading and writing English.
  • Able to communicate effectively in a busy environment.
  • Minimum of three years in front-of-house operations or assistant management roles.
  • Strong basic math skills and familiarity with cash register or POS systems.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be available for a full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while ensuring team collaboration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years of experience in restaurant management.
  • Experience in sushi preparation is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.

DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

Responsibilities Include:

  • Making daily disciplinary decisions (excluding terminations).
  • Managing daily staffing needs and scheduling adjustments.
  • Leading during inspections when other managers are unavailable.

Influences:

  • Employee-related decisions, including hiring and promotions.
  • Sales and retention strategies.
  • Financial decisions up to $500.

  • Achieving guest satisfaction scores that meet or exceed company standards.
  • Maintaining compliance with food safety audit requirements.
  • Meeting daily labor budget expectations.
