Position Overview: We are seeking a Cleared Systems Administrator to join our Hughes Network Systems division. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement security patches across various devices and operating systems, ensuring compliance with established schedules in collaboration with security teams.
  • Upgrade and maintain common software applications, ensuring all systems are up-to-date.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with ACAS and STIG compliance, or equivalent security frameworks.
  • Assist in the development of security documentation necessary for achieving Authority to Operate (ATO), including but not limited to Security Control Traceability Matrices and System Security Plans.
  • Engage in Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) and address assigned Plan Of Action and Milestone (POA&M) tasks in coordination with the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).
  • Participate in system evaluations and security drills.
  • Monitor systems for unusual activities and respond effectively to incidents.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, software, and hardware.
  • Provide support for peripheral devices such as printers and scanners.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a U.S. government Top Secret security clearance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related security protocols.
  • Hold a Level 1 IAT certification (A+, CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+, CE, or SSCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with system reporting tools such as Cherwell, ServiceNow, or JIRA/Confluence.
  • Experience with DoD/Federal security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) frameworks.
  • Knowledge of NIST regulations and their application.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to evaluate vendor products and recommend hardware and software solutions.
