Position Overview
The Department of Physics at Saint Louis University, a distinguished Catholic, Jesuit institution, invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty role in experimental physics at any rank.
We seek an innovative and hands-on physicist dedicated to engaging in experimental interdisciplinary and applied physics research. The successful candidate will collaborate with current faculty members both within the department and across other disciplines, contributing to the expanding interdisciplinary research initiatives of the School of Science and Engineering.
Research Focus Areas
We are particularly interested in candidates specializing in:
- Molecular and/or quantum optics
- Quantum materials and quantum information
- Advanced materials, nanomaterials, and devices
- Condensed matter physics
- Biophysics
- Medical physics
- Nanomedicine
Outstanding candidates with expertise in other areas of experimental physics are also encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in experimental physics, relevant post-doctoral research experience, and a robust record of scholarly achievements appropriate to their rank. A commitment to conducting groundbreaking, funded research in experimental physics and the potential to establish a distinguished national/international research program is essential.
The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate physics courses, including experiential and laboratory classes, and should demonstrate a passion for mentoring students and researchers at all levels.
