About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Manager to join our team at Plante Moran. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing group benefit plans for our clients, including implementation, employee open enrollment, and client communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships and provide exceptional customer service
  • Implement and maintain group benefit plans, including employee open enrollment and client communications
  • Assist internal staff with report production and delivery
  • Work with underwriting and analytics staff to manage data collection and analysis
  • Assist clients with carrier billings, premium statements, and enrollment
  • Maintain client relationship management and mailing lists
  • Distribute periodic bulletins, alerts, and compliance information to clients
  • Support practice development and assist leadership in developing efficient methods for client plan management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
  • 3-5 years of experience in group health insurance, health insurance company, third-party administrator, benefit consulting organization, or human resources department
  • General understanding of group insurance agent/broker, carrier, and/or third-party administrator, and stop-loss markets
  • Working knowledge of the independent agent group benefit market
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Location

This position may require some local and inter-state travel. Qualified individuals must reside in or near the Auburn Hills, MI, Grand Rapids, MI, Flint, MI, Cleveland, OH, or Toledo, OH area or be willing to relocate to the area for this opportunity.
