Senior Estimator Opportunity at GHW Global

GHW Global, a leading heavy civil General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Orange County office. This dynamic role will focus on leading major land development, utility pipeline, and dam infrastructure project pursuits for a highly respected ENR Top 100 General Contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the estimating process for assigned bids and projects, ensuring accurate and timely estimates.
  • Mentor and manage team members, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Coordinate pre-bid RFIs, ensure DBE compliance, and track scope changes during the estimate phase.
  • Manage internal and subcontractor scope coordination, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Collaborate with the project team on feasibility assessments, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure timely submission of post-bid contracts and procurement, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Analyze actual vs. estimated costs, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare budgets, subcontracts, and preliminary schedules, ensuring accurate and comprehensive project planning.
  • Maintain organized estimating records and documents, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
  • Assess bid risks and opportunities, reporting to the Chief Estimator and informing strategic business decisions.
  • Manage client relationships, assisting with business development and growth initiatives.
  • Conduct post-project reviews, tracking future project opportunities and identifying areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, with equivalent experience considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, B2Win (or HCSS), P6, and Agtek, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Resourceful and adaptable, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
