Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically fit individual to join our team as a Garbage Collector. As a key member of our Central Services crew, you will be responsible for collecting and disposing of waste in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and transport waste to designated disposal sites
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as garbage trucks, in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and pushing heavy objects
  • Work in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and precipitation
  • Wear proper safety gear and equipment to prevent injury
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain an Illinois Class B CDL license with airbrake endorsement
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 70 pounds and pushing/pulling heavy objects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to heavy equipment, inclement weather, and physical demands. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient collection and disposal of waste.
