Position Overview:
The Hospital for Behavioral Medicine is in search of an Expressive Arts Therapist to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional therapeutic care. This role involves working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary treatment team to enhance patient well-being through planned recreational activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging activity services tailored to the needs of assigned patients.
- Define and execute treatment objectives while ensuring continuous patient care and interaction.
- Observe and document any changes in patients' physical and mental states, communicating significant findings to the Charge Nurse or Program Director.
- Conduct assessments to identify psychosocial and recreational skill development needs.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all interventions, ensuring alignment with the patient's care plan.
- Utilize appropriate crisis intervention techniques as necessary.
- Support patients in achieving their highest level of independent functioning.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Certification or licensure in occupational or recreational therapy is highly desirable.
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience, particularly in psychiatric patient care, is preferred.

Additional Skills:
- Successful completion of CPR Certification and Preventative Management of Aggressive Behavior Training is required prior to engaging in any restraining procedures.
- Flexibility to work overtime and varied hours may be necessary.
