Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce relevant rules, regulations, and policies to maintain order and ensure the safety of youth and staff.
  • Escort youth in transit to and from facilities, as well as during temporary leaves.
  • Oversee youth during work assignments, meals, and recreation periods.
  • Guard facility entrances and screen visitors.
  • Inspect and maintain control of key logs, tools, and equipment.
  • Patrol assigned areas and report any issues or concerns.
  • Prepare facility-related reports and may be responsible for training and handling canines for tracking and detection purposes.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and any combination of training and experience that enables you to meet the minimum standards of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.). A valid driver's license is also required.
