Financial Economics Analyst (Litigation Support) - competitive compensation

Chi Square Economics is collaborating with a prominent international consulting firm specializing in economic and financial analysis. They are looking to enhance their team within their US headquarters. This role is positioned at the Associate level and will primarily engage in financial projects that necessitate econometric, statistical, or other quantitative analysis methodologies.

As part of the securities litigation division, you will collaborate with experienced litigation professionals and consultants, providing industry insights on intricate disputes within the financial domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing comprehensive quantitative and qualitative assessments of market manipulation claims as part of expert consulting assignments.
  • Extracting, cleansing, processing, and managing data for projects that are data-intensive.
  • Drafting detailed reports that clearly summarize essential findings and presenting key insights to clients to ensure their comprehension.
  • Proposing enhancements to the quality of analyses, with opportunities to initiate new business ventures.
  • Keeping abreast of market trends to inspire new case concepts.
  • **Note** - This position focuses on microeconomic analysis and economic consulting rather than macroeconomic or banking roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, financial economics, statistics, or related quantitative disciplines; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Relevant experience following academic qualifications, ideally within the economic consulting sector or regulatory bodies.
  • A strong interest in financial markets and a commitment to fair and transparent market practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Excel).
  • Hands-on experience in managing and analyzing complex or large datasets; familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL, Postgres) is a plus.
  • Solid grasp of data analysis methodologies and statistical inference.
  • Able to work in a flexible environment, with options for hybrid work arrangements.
