We are seeking a Customer Service Representative/Teller to join our team at Wheatland Bank. This role requires providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with various banking needs. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues who value financial responsibility, collaboration, transparency, and leadership.

About the Role
  • Process retail and commercial checking and savings deposits by verifying that all necessary documents are in proper form.
  • Cash checks, savings withdrawals, and make cash advances; confirm all necessary documents are properly authorized, are in proper form, and are within authorized limits.
  • Operate computer terminals or personal computers to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems.
  • Assist with night depository duties; log, bag, process deposits, make change orders, issue receipts, and return bags to customers.
  • Cross-sell the bank's other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Issue cashiers' checks.
  • Perform safe deposit duties by controlling access and assisting customers.
  • Receive and process stop payment and hold orders.
  • Accept loan payments.
  • Balance cash drawers daily and verify cash being returned to the vault.
  • Provide effective customer service and assist in resolving problems within given authority.
  • Maintain records and logs; prepare wire transfers, and sort mail or reports as required.
  • Answer telephones and direct callers to proper bank personnel.
  • May gather data and process various reports (e.g., currency transactions, returned items, overdrafts, monthly audit reports, monthly audit certifications, etc.).
  • Process travelers' checks, ATM deposits, change orders, and deposit slip corrections.
  • May assist in opening and closing the vault daily; assist in balancing vault currency and coin.
About You

We are looking for an individual with:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • The ability to work in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Basic ten-key skills.
  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Professional verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to positively promote our organization to customers and coworkers.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • The ability to consistently be at work during scheduled shifts.
