Job Purpose

As a Medical Assistant II at Baton Rouge General, you will play a vital role in coordinating patient care, working under the direction of physicians, clinic RNs, and managers. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring that every interaction is characterized by courtesy, respect, and empathy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care: Perform basic physical assessments, collect vital signs, and document patient data accurately.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, adhering to policy and ensuring 100% accuracy.
  • Phone Calls and Data Management: Respond to patient care-related phone calls, assess their purpose, and document interactions accurately.
  • Supportive Roles: Assist with clinic charges, update patient records, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a clinic setting.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program, and current Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Skills: Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
