Ultrasonographer II Job Description

Join our team of skilled professionals at Texas Health Resources as an Ultrasonographer II. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Explain procedures to patients and their families, ensuring clear understanding and comfort throughout the examination process.
  • Image anatomical areas of interest and pathology according to department protocols, utilizing advanced ultrasound techniques and equipment.
  • Perform complex procedures, taking into account age-related criteria and developmental considerations, to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Adjust ultrasound parameters to optimize image quality, ensuring precise and accurate results.
  • Assist radiologists with complex and invasive procedures, utilizing aseptic technique and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.
  • Process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, and suggest differential diagnoses to ensure accurate and timely patient care.
  • Utilize proper downtime procedures for PACS, Ambra, and HIS/RIS systems, ensuring seamless continuity of patient care.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved or accredited Ultrasound Program preferred.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Neonatal and Vascular experience preferred.
  • 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital radiology setting preferred.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography and one additional modality certification required upon hire.
  • ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers certification with 2 certifications required upon hire.
  • RVT or VT(RVS) certification as one modality if performing vascular sonography required upon hire.
