Overview:
The role involves assessing and suggesting enhancements for laboratory equipment to optimize production workflows and elevate overall productivity. Responsibilities include evaluating designs, generating bills of materials by selecting components per project specifications, ensuring compliance with parts precedence, and adhering to counterfeit prevention protocols. The position also entails assisting with procurement processes for components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct acceptance testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of products and prototypes as required.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation to record modifications and maintenance/testing procedures.
- Support the computer-aided engineering (CAE) design process for products or components.
- Assist in the development of prototypes, layouts, and models for product components or manufacturing processes using CAE tools.
- Verify layouts and analysis results for precision and compliance with established standards.
- Gather, validate, and prepare data essential for CAE operations.
- Assemble and/or modify printed circuit boards as necessary.
- Perform analyses of equipment failures, including both preventive and reactive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment issues.
Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to create and edit technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping capabilities.
- Proficient soldering skills.
- Familiarity with IPC standards and/or capability to obtain IPC certification for soldering and inspection of printed circuit assemblies.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience in circuit prototyping and design.
- Significant hands-on experience with laboratory equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets.
- Experience with PCB Design for Manufacturability.
- Proficient in soldering, staking, and rework processes.
