Job Title: Manufacturing Quality Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Quality Technician to join our team at Belcan. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met in our manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Inspect machined components using various inspection tools such as Faro Arms, Laser trackers, and Verisurf software.
  • Create inspection reports from engineering drawings and ensure proper revision control throughout the inspection process.
  • Select and utilize standard measurement tools to ensure quality and know which tool has the required accuracy to inspect feature tolerances.
  • Import part files and transform model to drawing datums as required to measure part features to engineering geometry.
  • Utilize probing software to create machine language programs for on-the-machine inspection of 3 Axis, 4 Axis, and 5 Axis machine centers.
  • Verify setup is correct and proof machine capability and problem-solve process errors.
  • Verify all data for acceptance to engineering requirements.
  • Identify engineering and design GD&T issues and errors creating ambiguity in the manufacturing and inspection process, including interpretation issues as applied to dimensions written or evaluation to requirements.
  • Work with manufacturing and quality to identify root causes and apply process improvement.
  • Communicate quality issues or concerns to engineering, manufacturing, and inspection teams.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to assist with designing/developing quality gauging to improve efficiencies.
  • Background with ISO 9001 or other quality standards for inspection.
  • Ability to understand and interpret all drawing criteria, GD&T requirements, and tolerances as applied to the engineering drawing and drawing notes.
  • Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges, and issues.
  • Ability to work with highly collaborative team.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to proactively collect, manage, and transfer knowledge.
  • Prioritizes and ensures safety of oneself and others.
  • Capable of obtaining forklift and boom lift certification.
  • Use of Romer arm, laser tracker, and Verisurf preferred.
