Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, your role will involve the assessment and treatment of patients experiencing both acute and chronic dysfunction of the cardiopulmonary system. Today's Respiratory Therapists have demanding responsibilities related to patient care and are essential members of the healthcare team.

You will need a comprehensive understanding of the pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system and the intricate procedures necessary for accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities:
- Under the general supervision of the RT Supervisor or Team Leader, you will conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as ordered by a physician.
- Your duties will encompass medical gas administration, aerosol therapy, obtaining and analyzing blood specimens, performing patient testing, operating and maintaining various types of respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment, providing mechanical ventilation, maintaining artificial airways, assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, providing patient education, and monitoring equipment and patient responses to therapy.


- Additional responsibilities include completing documentation of inpatient and departmental records, cleaning equipment, and upholding safety and infection control practices.


Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program is required.
- Current Respiratory Therapist license from the Missouri State Board for Respiratory Care is mandatory.
- Registration with the NBRC as an entry-level Care Practitioner is required.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS certification is preferred upon hire.
- One year of recent clinical experience is preferred.
