Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Certified Respiratory Therapist, you will assess and treat patients with both acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Your role is crucial in the healthcare team, requiring a solid understanding of the cardiopulmonary system and the procedures necessary for effective patient diagnosis and treatment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as directed by a physician.
  • Administer medical gases, aerosol therapy, and conduct patient testing.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment.
  • Provide mechanical ventilation and maintain artificial airways.
  • Assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and educate patients on their care.
  • Document patient records and maintain safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Valid state license required.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Current Respiratory Therapist license from the state board.
