Job Summary

The Early Childhood Education Teacher is a vital member of the Roland Park Country School team, responsible for providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our youngest students. This role requires a dedicated and passionate educator who can create a safe and stimulating space for children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Management
    • Establish a positive and respectful classroom community through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Create a well-organized and inviting learning environment that promotes student engagement and curiosity.
    • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Teaching and Learning
    • Design and deliver interactive and engaging lessons that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop project-based learning experiences that foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Establish clear expectations and guidelines for student behavior and conduct.
    • Provide individualized support and accommodations to meet the needs of students with diverse abilities.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and updates on student progress.
    • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and industry trends.
    • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Professional Growth
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with industry trends.
    • Seek feedback and guidance from colleagues and supervisors to refine teaching practices.
    • Participate in school-wide initiatives and projects that promote student learning and well-being.
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
      • Applicable experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
      • 90-hour certification in Early Childhood Education, including 45 hours in Preschool curriculum and 45 hours in growth and development.
    • Skills and Abilities
      • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
      • Ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for children.
      • Strong organizational and time management skills.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other educational technology platforms.
    • Physical Requirements
      • Ability to ascend and descend stairs in a school building.
      • Ability to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children.
      • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
