Fermentation and Microbiome Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team at Compunnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our fermentation and microbiome research efforts.

Fermentation Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain bench-scale fermenters, ensuring optimal operating conditions.
  • Conduct regular sampling and data logging to monitor fermentation progress.
  • Prepare media and stock solutions to support fermentation experiments.
  • Monitor fermentation processes, reporting any deviations or observations to senior team members.
  • Perform other laboratory housekeeping tasks as assigned.

Analytics Responsibilities:

  • Prepare fermentation samples for transfer to the analytics team.
  • Communicate with team members to coordinate sampling and sample processing schedules.
  • Prepare reagents for sample processing.

Microbiome Responsibilities:

  • Conduct DNA extraction and sequencing preparation for microbiome analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Previous work experience in Biotechnology is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of biology and microbiology techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS Office platforms.
