Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. As a Mechanical Engineer Associate Staff, you will work on the development of complex mechanical and opto-mechanical systems, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to design, analyze, integrate, and test hardware from conceptual design through fabrication and field performance evaluation.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex mechanical and opto-mechanical systems
  • Perform mechanical design and analysis of complex mechanical systems for DoD and aerospace applications
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate and test hardware
  • Present engineering designs to internal and external audiences
Requirements
  • MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering plus 3 years minimum experience, or BS in Mechanical Engineering plus 5 years minimum experience
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical design and development of complex opto-mechanical or precision engineered systems that must function in harsh environments
  • Experience in aerospace applications is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in performing mechanical design and analysis of complex mechanical systems for DoD and aerospace applications
  • Opto-mechanical and/or precision design experience for systems that must function in harsh environments
