Leeds, United States HFS Company Full time
Job Overview

HFS Company is a prominent firm in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector, specializing in project management and consulting services. We engage in prime contracts for a diverse range of federal and military medical initiatives across the United States and Europe. Our mission is to deliver comprehensive support throughout the facilities lifecycle, enabling our clients to achieve their capital improvement objectives in a cost-effective and strategic manner.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses various duties, including:

  • Financial Oversight and Budget Management: Aid in documenting the administration of construction contract modifications, which includes preparing cost estimates, evaluating cost proposals, and leading the preparation of change order packages from initial requests through to final modifications.
  • Scheduling during Construction Phases: Analyze current project timelines, including proposed schedules for change orders. Address any delays with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and suggest necessary adjustments to the project timeline.
  • Participation in Progress Meetings: Attend project meetings as necessary to assess and monitor project progress and schedules.
  • Assistance in Conflict Resolution: Maintain detailed records of incidents, contracts, and other construction-related matters to support conflict resolution efforts. Organize and document regular progress meetings with all stakeholders to review project status, address challenges, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Additional Construction Services: Conduct routine inspections of ongoing construction work, identifying non-compliance with contract specifications and notifying relevant parties for corrective action. Compile thorough documentation through site inspections, including lists of defects and omissions, and provide these to contractors for rectification and to the COR for record-keeping. Manage construction contract modifications, review submittals, respond to requests for information, and track material and equipment deliveries.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or building construction.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction administration on large-scale projects.
  • Expertise in construction administration practices, including contract management, documentation, budget oversight, cost estimation, and quality assurance.
  • A solid understanding of architectural and engineering principles, as well as project management.
  • Familiarity with medical-functional and building system components, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and utility systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant government, industry, and accreditation standards, particularly those related to healthcare facilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Equal Opportunity Employer: We are an equal opportunity employer, including individuals with disabilities and veterans. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; HFS does not sponsor employment visas.

Company Commitment: HFS Company is proud to be a Service-Disabled Veteran and Woman Owned Small Business. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including generous paid time off, holidays, an annual professional development allowance, and a fully-vested 401k match after one year of service.
