We are in search of a Senior Software Developer to become a part of our compact engineering team. Candidates should possess experience in professional web development, though we welcome applicants with a stronger focus on either backend or frontend development. This role involves contributing to a new segment of our platform, where most of the features you will develop are innovative rather than mere updates or maintenance tasks. You will engage in technical design and architecture alongside coding responsibilities. Our work encompasses the entire stack, from the open-source Framework library (TypeScript) to the cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare edge workers, R2, S3, Docker), the API (TypeScript, Node, Postgres), and the frontend (TypeScript, React).

While familiarity with all aspects is not mandatory, a willingness to learn is essential. As a small team, we expect you to adapt quickly, and while formal training is limited, our team is eager to assist and engage in pair programming frequently, fostering a culture of mutual learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
  • Collaborate within a close-knit engineering team that deploys new code into production multiple times daily.
  • Write efficient code, establish reliable systems, and rapidly develop prototypes.
  • Demonstrate initiative, prioritize tasks, manage workloads, and adhere to project timelines.
  • Understand user needs (including participating in user support) and enhance the quality of their experience alongside the quality of our code.
  • Work effectively with a diverse team of professionals (engineering, design, product, marketing).
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in feature development across both frontend and backend technologies.
  • Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: JavaScript, Python, Go, or Ruby.
  • Strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software design, coupled with excellent investigative and debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with open-source, cloud, or application platforms.
  • Ability to produce clear, maintainable, self-documenting, or well-documented code that addresses complex challenges with straightforward, elegant solutions.
